The word can be interpreted in many different ways. I see a witness as somebody who is present or aware of a moment in time. Yesterday we went to go visit the Museum of Tolerance, and we became witnesses to the horrific acts that occurred during the Holocaust. As we walked through the museum, I learned about all of the children and adults who were killed, and about the events that took place. Overall, I feel as if my eyes have been opened and it made me realize how much suffering has taken place. I was transformed by this because it made me realize that I need to step up and not let history repeat itself, and stand up for those being taken advantage of. Also, I realized you cannot let power go to your heads, and you need to do what seems morally right to you, not just follow those with the most power. The whole experience made me feel humbled and made me honor and remember those victims that were subjected to the brutality that occurred.
